Book 1 final project

Along For The Ride by Sarah Dessen

My fan experience idea is a bicycle necklace because at the beginning of the book Auden never rode a bike and towards the end she buys one herself then asks her friends to teach her how. The bicycle is blue with fat russell tires and has an old-styled look to it because of the small town that she is visiting.
This is what the bike would look like if it was real. But like this on a necklace with black on the tires and blue on the frame of the bike.
I think this idea would work to get more people to read the book because it will grab someone's attention when they see this near the book and make them want to read why there is a bike in the story and what it stands for towards the story. The necklace could go with the book to get people to want to buy the book but have the necklace price could also be in the price of the book to encourage book stores to buy the product and make money for the author as well.

Along for the ride

Along for the ride is about a soon to be college student that wants to make up for her missed childhood after her parents were tried of child-like behavior from her older brother. When helping out her new step-mother, Heidi,  with her half-sister Thisbe, she finds herself in a job at Clemtine's the store that Heidi works. soon she finds a new group of friends and a guy named Eli who she can't quite fiqure out what they are. I like that after all those years of her missed childhood, Eli wants to help recreate memories that she never knew people did when they were kids. I don't really have any expectations on where this book will end up quite yet.

What is a book?

A book is an escape from reality; it gives you an image of someone else's life. A book is like acting in a play, playing the part of a character and living in their world. The author's choice of character speaks to the reader wanting to read like the books never going to end, especially when an exciting part in the story comes up relieving you from boring description of people and places that the character meets. The idea of a book is like finding something very interesting about someone that you know very well. the author that i agree with on their view of books is Tom Piazza because his examples of why books are important to us gives a great reasoning on why people should read actual books than on eBooks. I prefer to read a paperback book because the feel of the book makes you realize that other peoples life could be like the story you're reading about. Reading on an eBook or kindle to me feels weird because i'm used to reading from an actual book from growing up. The new technology that we are creating could be a reason that toddlers don't know how an actual book or magazine because we've gotten them used to the technology and messing with their brains.

Why i picked my first book?

I picked along for the ride by Sarah Dessen because the story shows a problem that auden is facing. Auden seems to be trying to find her way again after her parent's divorce. And while trying to get over her friend's death. Yet while feeling lost she finally finds something that lets all her problems melt away. That's the main reason that I picked this book. Also my friend loved the author's writing style and read most of her books so it was a good book option to try for my first book. The author's choice of writing stood out to me because most of her books are based on teenage girl's problems and what they facing trying to overcome them. The reviews also stand out to me because they are from other people who read her other books as well. The reviews that I saw were from goodreads where people who really love to read comment on other books like this one.

Why i read?

Why do you read?

I read because it gives you a break from reality and lets you see the other character(s) world. It gives a reason to want to learn more about what happens to the character next. It really gives you a big picture of the setting and the expression of people in the story. The book depends on the author, depending on your view of books. The story just lets you see a different point of view in life that you wouldn’t see before.  The story between characters draws a reader to want to understand more of the character and what the story will end like. In divergent, the story gives a scary feeling leaving you wondering about what will happen to the people next.

The stories change the reader’s point of view towards another character or thing in the setting. Each story gives a different feel toward each reader because each person is different like characters. The only difference between stories and the real world is that in a story the ending is made for you and can’t be changed and in real world you can choose your life decisions but also live the consequences of your actions.
