My fan experience idea is a bicycle necklace because at the beginning of the book Auden never rode a bike and towards the end she buys one herself then asks her friends to teach her how. The bicycle is blue with fat russell tires and has an old-styled look to it because of the small town that she is visiting.
I think this idea would work to get more people to read the book because it will grab someone's attention when they see this near the book and make them want to read why there is a bike in the story and what it stands for towards the story. The necklace could go with the book to get people to want to buy the book but have the necklace price could also be in the price of the book to encourage book stores to buy the product and make money for the author as well.
I love this idea! The bicylce is a great symbol of the book but isn't tacky or weird: people will want to buy it. Fans will be excited to be a part of the book and to be able to show off their merchandise. The necklace will also be good for the income of the author and bookstore because bookstores always sell extra doo-dads that go along with the book.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Caroline. The necklace is simple and not too over the top, but it also shows what it stands for in the book. Giving some of the profit to the author is also smart so that the income goes to a good cause. I'm sure that the necklace won't be the only item related to the book either so the author could make a good chunk of money.
